Color Green, Is It Your Favorite?

Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, renewal, health, and environment. On the flip side, green is jealousy or envy (green-eyed monster) and inexperience. Green is a restful color with some of the same calming attributes of blue. Like blue, time moves faster in a green room. And also Green is the national color of Ireland and is strongly associated with that country. It also has close associations with Islam. Because of all the green in nature the color is reminiscent of Spring. Coupled with red it's a Christmas. With both a warming and cooling effect, the color green denotes balance, harmony, and stability. Use several shades of green for a fresh, Springtime feel. Olive green, also called olive drab, is a not so drab summery green that may have military overtones for some people.
Using Green with Other Colors produces echoes of nature - water and forest and can denote new beginnings and growth. Green Color Palettes feature shades of green combined with gray, yellow, black, purple, lavender, and brown for some earthy, retro, and conservative looks. The use of green in familiar phrases can help a designer see how their color of choice might be perceived by others, both the positive and negative aspects.

Feminine Colors

Colors that are traditionally considered feminine colors or that appeal most strongly to or are more closely associated with women can be good choices for marketing messages and interior designs targeting women. Color studies done over the years indicate that the favorite colors of women and men do differ. Some of these differences in favorite colors may be attributed to cultural use of color and conditioning.
There are no hard and fast rules about what colors are feminine or masculine or gender-neutral. Because colors come in many tints and shades, someone may love a light powder blue but strongly dislike a deep navy blue so a preference for the color blue doesn't mean that every shade of blue is universally appropriate. However, some generalizations are possible based on various color studies.
Blue is a favorite color of both men and women of all ages. While men have a stronger preference for blue than women, it's still a top choice. It may be the calming effect of the color blue that makes it a popular color for both men and women.

Do You Know?

Use the color red to grab attention and to get people to take action. Use red when you don't want to sink into the background. Use red to suggest speed combined with confidence and perhaps even a dash of danger. A little bit of red goes a long way. Small doses can often be more effective than large amounts of this strong color. Multiple shades of red and even pink or orange can combine for a cheerful palette.

Red

Red is hot.
A stimulant, red is the hottest of the warm colors. Studies show that red can have a physical effect, increasing the rate of respiration and raising blood pressure.
The expression seeing red indicates anger and may stem not only from the stimulus of the color but from the natural flush of the cheeks, a physical reaction to anger, increased blood pressure, or physical exertion.
Red is power, hence the red power tie for business people and the red carpet for celebrities and VIPs (very important people).
Flashing red lights denote danger or emergency. Stop signs and stop lights are red to get the drivers' attention and alert them to the dangers of the intersection.
In some cultures, red denotes purity, joy, and celebration. Red is the color of happiness and prosperity in China and may be used to attract good luck.

Furniture Care Products Comes in Different colors

There are many products on the market available for furniture care. To maintain the finish, clean the surface with a damp washcloth and wipe dry. Cleaners such as Pledge and Murphy’s Oil Soap are not recommended because they leave a dull residue on the finish. Also, you should never use products containing ammonia on water base finishes. Polishes such as lemon oil or orange oil work well for routine maintenance. The following are some tips on the different types of polishes.

Table-Top Systems For Thickness And Index Measurements

These are our workhorse general-purpose instruments suitable for a wide range of applications. Choose the F20 system (F20-UV, F20, F20-NIR, or F20-EXR) with the best thickness or wavelength range for your application. More specialized F20 systems are optimized for the measurement of automotive hardcoats (F20-HC), ophthalmic lenses (F20-CP), and extra thick (≤ 0.45mm) films (F20-XT).

The FC 2 Flour Color Controller

The FC 2 flour color controller consists of a measuring pipe with a glass insert (length of insert = 200 mm, diameter = 120, 150 or 200 mm). The device is installed in the run-off pipe immediately downstream of the flour worm. The measuring pipe is fitted with a special optical sensor which continuously measures the reflection of the flour being conveyed through the pipe. The degree of the reflection is always determined by the color or lightness of the flour. The evaluation unit of the monitoring system processes the measuring signal and establishes a mean value. This signal is shown continuously on a digital display. In case of a given grain mixture, it is also possible to compensate for the ash content of the flour. The measuring signal is automatically controlled by two adjustable limit values. It is possible to register the flour colour over a period of time by means of a recording unit. The constant display and control of the transient lightness value help to make the task of the mill supervision simpler and safer. A particular advantage of this system is the fact that flour sieve defects in the plan sifter are immediately identified and signaled to the operator.

Color Theory

Color Theory is a set of principles used to create harmonious color combinations. Color relationships can be visually represented with a color wheel — the color spectrum wrapped onto a circle. The first color wheel was invented by Sir Isaac Newton. He split white sunlight into red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, and blue beams; then he joined the two ends of the color spectrum together to show the natural progression of colors. Newton associated each color with a note of a musical scale. A century after that, Johann Wolfgang Goethe began studying psychological effect of colors. He noticed that blue gives a feeling of coolness and yellow has a warming effect. Goethe created a color wheel showing the psychological effect of each color. He divided all the colors into two groups – the plus side and the minus side. Colors of the plus side produce excitement and cheerfulness. Colors of the minus side are associated with weakness and unsettled feelings.
